My Story
Welcome to Cal-Fit Health and Fitness, where my journey has been shaped by a genuine passion for pushing physical and mental boundaries.
Originally from York, England, my sporting passion revolved around rugby league, but in 2006, I transitioned to a professional path as an infantryman in the British Army. This experience instilled a profound sense of discipline that continues to drive me today.
Following my lifetime dream, I moved to Australia, playing two seasons of Rugby League in the Sydney competition. In 2011, I moved to Oslo, Norway, as the player coach of the Oslo Capitals Rugby League Club, which ignited a desire to help others improve their health and fitness. This led me to pursue a career as a Personal Trainer.
My passion for rugby led me to serve as the assistant coach for the Norwegian National Rugby League team from 2013 to 2015. In 2016, I represented Norway as a player, cherishing every moment of the sport that shaped my life.
In 2018, I joined Valerenga FC, the largest football club in Oslo, Norway, to work as strength and conditioning trainer in the ladies’ department. Working with elite female athletes at such a great club was such an amazing experience , and this profoundly impacted both my coaching career and personal growth.
Facing diverse challenges, I adopted a personalized approach, focusing on effective communication, trust-building, and understanding players’ physical and emotional needs. Embracing the pressure of a high-profile sporting environment, I dedicated myself to continuous learning and collaboration with other coaches.
As a result, I witnessed remarkable improvements in the players’ performance and mental resilience, solidifying my passion for coaching and empowering athletes to achieve their full potential.
Then, in 2020, I crossed the ocean to the USA to expand my knowledge in health and fitness. In May 2021, I established CAL-FIT, my own fitness company, aiming to share my expertise with others to promote healthier lives.
Beyond rugby, I discovered a new passion in trail running after retiring from the sport. The thrill of competing in challenging races, like the 60k 2500D+ Trail De Coimbra Terras De Sico in Portugal and the 76k 5300 D+ Alpine ultra marathon, Trail Verbier St-bernard X-Traverseé by UTMB, in the Swiss Alps, challenges me and give a profound sense of accomplishment.
Now based in Cascais, Portugal, with my supportive wife, I continue to pursue my passion for fitness and well-being while inspiring and uplifting those around me.
